If (x-1/x)=6 , then find the value of (x^4+1/x^4)

ANSWER:

(x-1/x) = 6

=> x - 1 = 6x

=> x -6x = 1

=> -5x = 1

=> x = -1/5

x^4 + 1/ x^4 = (-1/5)^4 + 1 / (-1/5)^4

= (1/625 + 1)/ 1/625

= 626/625 x 625

= 626
