Answer:

x+1/x=8,

squaring on both sides

(x+1/x)whole square=64

from (a+b)whole square formula

xsquare+1/xsquare+2×x×1/x=64

xsquare+1/xsquare+2=64

xsquare+1/xsquare=62.

Answer:

i)

\frac{x-1}{x} =8\\\\(\frac{x-1}{x} )^{2}=x^2+\frac{1}{x^2} +2*x*\frac{1}{x} \\\\(8)^2=x^2+\frac{1}{x^2}+2\\\\ 64-2=x^2+\frac{1}{x^2}\\\\x^2+\frac{1}{x^2}=62

ii)

There is something wrong with it. Perhaps you have made a mistake in writing it.
