x+1 / y+1 = 4/5
Now cross multiplication
5 ( x + 1 ) = 4 ( y+1 )
➡️ 5x + 5 = 4y + 4
➡️ 4y - 5x = 1
➡️ y = 1 + 5x / 4 ......... equation 1
Now,
x-5 / y - 5 = 1/2
Again cross multiplication
2x - 10 = y - 5
➡️ 2x - y = 5
Putting value from equation 1
➡️ 2x - (1+5x/4) = 5
➡️ 8x - 1 - 5x / 4 = 5
➡️ 3x - 1 = 20
➡️ 3x = 21
➡️ x = 7
So. Now we put value if x in first equation
y = 1 + 5x / 4 = 1 + 35 / 4 = 36 / 4 = 9
Hope it helps you
