If (x + 1, y – 2) = (3, 1) find the values of X and Y.​

Answer:

(x+1,y−2)=(3,1)

Comparing the x− and y− coordinates, we get

x+1=3,y−2=1

⇒x=3−1,y=1+2

∴x=2,y=3

∴(x,y)=(2,3)
