If (X + 1 Y - 2) = (3, 1), find the value of x and y

(X + 1, Y - 2) = (3, 1)

Since the ordered pair are equal, corresponding elements are equal hence,

1) X + 1 =3

2) &y-2= 1

solving 1

X + 1 = 3

X- 3 - 1

X=2

solving 2

Y -2 = 1

Y = 1 + 2

Y=3

:. x =2,y =3
