Given : If (x+10)% of 240 is 60% more than x% of 180. then 15% of (x+20) is what percent less than 25% of x?

Solution :-

given that,

→ (x+10)% of 240 = 60% more than x% of 180 .

we know that,

  • a% = a / 100.

So,

→ {(x + 10) * 240/100 = [160 * (x % of 180)] / 100

→ (x + 10) * (12/5) = (8/5) * (x * 180/100)

→ (12x + 120) / 5 = (8/5) * (9x/5)

→ 5(12x + 120) = 8 * 9x

→ 60x + 600 = 72x

→ 72x - 60x = 600

→ 12x = 600

dividing both sides by 12,

→ x = 50.

To find :

  • 15% of (x+20) is what percent less than 25% of x.

So,

→ 15% of (x + 20) = 15 * (x + 20)/100 = (15/100) * (50 + 20) = (15 * 70)/100 = 1050/100 = 10.5 .

and,

→ 25% of x = (25 * 50) 100 = 12.5

Therefore,

→ Difference = 12.5 - 10.5 = 2

Hence,

→ Required % = (2 * 100) / 12.5 = 16% (Ans.)
