Answer:

refer the above pic and in first step we take 1.6 because the left side equation is 60% more than right. so to make both equal we multiply right side with 1.6

Given :  (x+10)% of 240 is 60% more than x% of 180,

To Find : 15% of (x+20) is what percent less than 25% of x

Solution:

(x+10)% of 240 is 60% more than x% of 180,

(x+10)% of 240

= ((x + 10)/100 ) * 240

= 2.4x  + 24

x% of 180

= (x /100) 180

= 1.8x

60% more than x% of 180

= 1.8x  + (60/100)1.8x

= 1.8x(1.6)

= 2.88x

2.88x = 2.4x  + 24

=> 0.48x  = 24

=> x = 50

15% of (x+20)

= (15/100) (50 + 20)

= 10.5

25% of x  = (25/100)50  = 12.5

12.5 - 10.5 = 2

(2/12.5) * 100

= 16 %

Hence 15% of (x+20) is 16 percent less than 25% of x
