if x-11 is a factor of polynomial,x²-mx+22 ,find the value of m

Answer:

Let p (x) =x^2 - mx +22

x-11 is a factor of p (x):

》So , x = 11

Now we put the value of x in p (x)

p (11) = (11)^2 - m × 11 + 22

= 121 - 11m +22

= 121 + 22 -11m

= 143 -11m

(-143)/(-11 ) = m [ by transposing]

m = 13

Hence, the value of m is 13.
