(x +  \frac{1}{x} ) {}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +   \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  + 2

(x +  \frac{1}{x} ) = 3

(x +  \frac{1}{x {}^{} } ) {}^{3}  =  {x}^{3}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{3} }  + 3(x +  \frac{1}{x})

 {x}^{3}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{3} }  = 18
