Explanation:

When x=2,

 =  >  {x}^{2}  - 2x

 =  >  {(2)}^{2}  - 2(2) = 4 - 4 = 0

When x= -2

 =  >  {( - 2)}^{2}  - 2( - 2)

 = 4 + 4 = 8

When x=1/3

 =  >  {( \frac{1}{3}) }^{2}  - 2( \frac{1}{3} )

 =  \frac{1}{9}  -  \frac{1}{3}  =  \frac{1 - 3}{9}  =  -  \frac{2}{9}

Additional information:-

substitute means putting variable'value into a Equation to find out a fixed value or constant value.

Substitution is a method in which we find one variable's value and substitute into another Equation to find other variable 's value and again we put second's variable value into first Equation to find first variable 's value.

e.g=>2x-y=10.......(i)

ㅤ 3x-2y=12......(ii)

from(1)x =  \frac{10 + y}{2}

now ,put X's value into another Equation 2

3( \frac{10 + y}{2} ) - 2y = 12

 \frac{3 0+ 3y}{2}  - 2y = 12

 \frac{30 + 3y - 4y}{2}  = 12

30 - y = 24

 =  >  - y = 24 - 30 =  - 6

\bold{y = 6}

Now put Y's value into Equation1

2x - y = 10 = 2x - 6 = 10

2x = 16

\bold{x=8}
