x^2+x+x+1=0
x (x+1)+1 (x+1)=0
(x+1)(x+1)=0
therefore x=-1


x+1/x
-1+1/-1...... (value of x =-1)
-1-1=-2

Solution:-

=> x² + 2x + 1 = 0

by mid term splitting.

=> x² + x + x + 1 = 0

=> x ( x + 1 ) + 1 ( x + 1 ) = 0

=> ( x + 1 ) ( x + 1 ) = 0

=> x + 1 = 0 or x + 1 = 0

we get x = - 1 from both

=> x = - 1

put x = - 1 in below

=> x + 1/x

=> - 1 + 1/- 1

=> - 1 - 1

=> - 2

Hence, x + 1/x = - 2
