To Find :-

▪ The value of x + 1/x

Concept :-

▪ At first, we have to find 1/x

▪ After that we have to rationalise the denominator.

Solution :-

x = 2 +√3

➯ 1/x = 1/(2+√3)

➯ 1/x = (2-√3)/ ( 2+√3) ( 2-√3)

➯ 1/x = (2-√3) / (2-3)

➯ 1/x = -(2-√3)

➯ 1/x = -2 +√3

Here, using formula

____ (a^2 -b^2) = (a+b) (a-b)

Now,

x +1/x

= 2+√3 -2√3

= 2√3

Hence, the required answer is 2√3.
