Answer:

If x=-2/3,

y=1/4

z=-5/4,

then verify that  a)x (y + z) =x y + x z

-2/3 ( 1/4 + -5/4) = -2/3 x 1/4 + -2/3 x -5/4

-2/3 ( -4/4) = -2/12 + 10/12

-2/3 x -1 = 8/12

2/3 = 8/12

2/3 = 2/3

Answer:

x =   - \frac{2}{3}  \\  \\ y =  \frac{1}{4}  \\  \\ z =  -  \frac{5}{4}

x(y + z) = xy + xz \\  - \frac{2}{3} ( \frac{1}{4}  -  \frac{5}{4} ) =  -  \frac{2}{3} ( \frac{1}{4} ) -  \frac{2}{3} ( -  \frac{5}{4} ) \\  \\  -  \frac{2}{3} ( - 1) =  -  \frac{2}{12} +  \frac{10}{12}  \\  \\  \frac{2}{3}  =  \frac{8}{12}  \\  \\  \frac{2}{3}  =  \frac{2}{3}

Hence Verified
