Given :-

x + 2 ; 3x ; 4x + 1 are in A.P

To find :-

x

Proof :-

In an A.P, the average of first term and third term is equal To second term.

Therefore,

{\dfrac{a1+a3}{2}=a2}

{\dfrac{x+2+4x+1}{2}=3x}

{5x + 3 = 6x}

{\Huge{\boxed{x = 3}}}

The value of x is 1.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : If (x+2), 3x and (4x+1) are in A.P.

To find : The value of x ?

Solution :

We know that,

The difference between two term is common in an A.P.

If a,b,c are in A.P.

then, b-a=c-b

So, (x+2), 3x and (4x+1) are in A.P.

then, 3x-(x+2)=4x+1-3x

3x-x-2=4x+1-3x

2x-2=x+1

3x=3

x=\frac{3}{3}

x=1

Therefore, the value of x is 1.
