(x - 2), 7, (2x - 7), 15 are in proportion

Therefore, (2x - 7)² = 15 × 7

» 4x² - 28x + 49 = 105

» 4x² - 28x - 56 = 0

» x² - 7x - 14 = 0

» x = (7 ± √105)/2
