SOLUTION:-

Answer:-

a=2

b=0

Given

▪︎p(x) = 2x³-5x²+ax+b

Zeros are 2 and 0

To find

Value of a and b

Explanation

▪︎p(x) = 2x³-5x²+ax+b

Zeros are 2 and 0

Putting x=2 in p(x)

▪︎p(x) = 2x³-5x²+ax+b

2×(2)³-5×(2)²+a×2+b=0

=2×8-5×4+2a+b=0

=16-20+2a+b=0

= -4+2a+b=0

= 2a+b=4...................(1)

Then

Putting x=0 in p(x)

▪︎p(x) = 2x³-5x²+ax+b

= 2×(0)³-5×(0)²+a×0+b=0

= 0-0+0+b=0

b=0

Putting b=0 in eq 1

2a+b=4

= 2a+0=4

= 2a=4-0

a= 4/2

a=2

Hence, value of a = 2 and b=0
