If x = 2 and x = 0 are zeroes of the polynomial
2x - 5x² + ax + b, find the values of a and b.

p(x) = 2x - 5x² + ax + b

p(2) = 2(2)-5(2)(2) + a(2) + b

we also know p(2) = 0

0=4-20+2a+b

2a+b=16...(1)

p(0)= 2(0)-5(0)(0)+a(0)+b

0=b

therefore b=0

putting value of b in equation (1)

2a+ 0 = 16

2a = 16

a = 8
