The remainder when x³-2x-1  is divided by (x-2) is 3.

Given:

(x-2) is the divisor of x³-2x-1.

To Find:

The remainder.

Solution:

By the Remainder theorem,

g(x) = 0

x-2=0

x=2

Substituting the value of x=2 in  x³-2x-1.

2³-2(2)-1

= 8-4-1

=8-5

=3

Therefore, the remainder when x³-2x-1  is divided by (x-2) is 3.
