Answer:

Since, (x+2) is a factor of the polynomial p(x), this means -2 is a root of the polynomial p(x)

that is , p(-2)=0

Otherwise, we also know that since x+2 is a factor of the polynomial p(x), we can write

p(x) = (x+2)*f(x) , for some other polynomial f(x), we don't care about.

Clearly, from here if we put x=-2

we get,

p(-2)=0*f(-2) = 0

Hope this helps you !
