If x−2 is a factor of both p( x ) = 3x − a and q( x ) = 4x − b , what is the value of a + b ?

x-2=0
x=2
P(2)=3(2)-a=0
=6-a=0
a=6
Q(2)=4(2)-b=0
=8-b=0
b=8
