Answer:

given,

g(x) = px² + 5x + 3

since,

x + 2 is a factor of g(x)

so,

x +2 = 0

=> x = -2 will be a zeor of g(x)

=> p(-2) = 0

=> p( -2)² +5(-2) + 3 = 0

=> 4p -10 + 3= 0

=> 4p -7 = 0

=> 4p = 7

=> p = 7/4.

I hope it will help you..

Step-by-step explanation:

if (x+2) is a factor, then -2 is a zero of

 {px}^{2}  + 5x + 3

after substitution,

p(4)+5(-2)+3=0

4p=7

p =  \frac{7}{4}
