if (x-2) is a factor then,
x = 2
then,
2(x)^3 -2(x)+k = 0
⇒2*2^3-2*2+k = 0
⇒16-4+k = 0
⇒12 +k = 0
⇒ k = -12
 therefore the value of k = -12
i hope that this will help u....................^_^

bt sub x=2 in p(x)
           6-2(2)+k=0
           6-4+k=0
           k=0-2
           k=-2
