if (x-2) is the factor then,
x = 2 is the zeroes of polynomial.
p(2) = (2)^3 - 3*(2) + 5a
0= 8 - 6 + 5a
-2 = 5a
a = -2/5 ans.

HEY THERE!!

Question;-

if x -2 is a factor of x cube - 3x + 5a then value of a is:

Method of Solution;-

Given Polynomial;-

x³-3x+5a

Also, their Factor (x-2).

f(x)=x-2

x-2=0

•°• x=2

Now, solving the Factor of Polytechnic x³-3x+5a

Considering on Question!-

Substitute the value of x in Equation.

F(x)=x³-3x+5a=0

f(2)=(2)³-3(2)+5a=0

8-6+5a=0

2+5a=0

°•° 5a=-2

a=-2/5

Hence, value of x³-3x+5a ,a=-2/5

hope it helps
