If x-2 is a factor of the given polynomial, then 2 is a zero of the given polynomial.

By putting x = 2 in the given polynomial, we get,

(2)² - 3a(2) + 3a -7 = 0

=> 4 - 6a + 3a - 7 = 0

=> -3 - 3a = 0

=> a = - 3/3

=> a = -1

Hope it helps.

Answer:

Value of a= 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Since (X+1) is a factor of x^2 - 3ax + 3a - 7

Therefore , x + 1 = 0

or, x=-1

Putting the value of x in the the p(x) = x^2 - 3ax + 3a - 7

or, (-1)^2 - 3(a)(-1) + 3a - 7 = 0

1+3a+3a-7=0

6a=6

or, a=1

Therefore, the value of a = 1.
