 \:\:  \underline{\underline{\bf{\large\mathfrak{~~Solution~~}}}}

let ,p(X)=x²-7x+2a

applying remainder theorem...

x-2=0

=>X=2

now ....(x-2) is a factor of p(X) so..the remainder is =0

therefore...

p(2)=2²-7(2)+2a=0

=>2a=10

=>a=5

The value of a is "5".

Step-by-step explanation:

The \ given \ equation \ is:\\x^2-7x+2a=0\\If \ "x-2" is \ a \ factor,the,\\x=2\\On \ putting \ the \ value \ of \ "a" \ in \ the \ above \ equation,we\ get\\(2)^2-7\times 2+2a=0\\4-14+2a=0\\-10+2a=0\\2a=10\\a=\frac{10}{2} \\a=5
