Given,

f ( x) = 2x² - 3 x + 7a

If x = 2 is a root of the polynomial,

then f ( 2 ) = 0

So,

f ( 2 ) = 0

= 2 ( 2²) - 3 ( 2 ) + 7a = 0

= 8 - 6 + 7a = 0

2 + 7a = 0

7a = -2

a = -2/7

Therefore , a = -2/7

Answer:

Given,

f ( x) = 2x² - 3 x + 7a

If x = 2 is a root of the polynomial,

then f ( 2 ) = 0

So,

f ( 2 ) = 0

= 2 ( 2²) - 3 ( 2 ) + 7a = 0

= 8 - 6 + 7a = 0

2 + 7a = 0

7a = -2

a = -2/7

Therefore , a = -2/7
