Answer:

here,

x-2 = 0

x= 2

so,

x^3 - 4x^2 - 8

= 2^3 - 4(2)^2 - 8

= 8 - 4(4) -8

= -16 is the answer

hope it helps you

Answer:

as (x-2) is a zero  of polynomial

x-2 =0

so x  = 2

{if (x-a) is a zero of a given polynomial a is also a zero of the polynomial}

putting the value of x in the equation

x³ - 4x² + kx - 8 = 0

2³ - 4(2)² + 2k -8 = 0

8 - 16 + 2k- 8 =0

2k - 16 = 0

 2k    = 16

  k  = 8
