The zero of the polynomial x - a is given by

x - 2 = 0

= 0So

x = 2

Let f(x) = 2x² + 3x - p

Now by the Remainder Theorem the Remainder is

f(2)

= 2×2² + 3× 2 - p

= 8 + 6 - p

= 14 - p

So 14 - p = 0

p = 14
