x = 2+√3

1/x = 1/2+√3

1/x = 1/2+√3 × 2-√3/2-√3. (Rationalisation)

1/x = 2-√3/4-3

1/X= 2-√3/1

THEREFORE, (X+1/X) = (2+√3 +2-√3)

=(2+2)

= 4
