  • \sf x=2sin^2\theta
  • \sf y=2cos^2 \theta

  • x+y=?

\to \sf x+y

Substitute the values.

\to \sf 2sin^2\theta+2cos^2\theta

Take "2" common.

\to \sf 2(sin^2\theta+cos^2\theta)

We know that sin²θ+cos²θ=1. Thus, substitute.

\to \sf 2(1)

\boxed{\sf{\blue{2}}}

∴x+y=2.
