If x^2 + y^2 + 2x - 4y + 5 = 0, then find out the value of x + y.

Answer:

x²+y²+2x-4y+5=0

x²+y²+2x-4y= -5

(x+y)²=x²+y²+2xy

(x+y)²-2xy=x²+y²

put value of x²+y²

(x+y)²-2xy+2x-4y= -5

(x+y)²=2(xy+x-2y)-5
