Let ,X - 2y = -1 ------eq1

and 2x - y = 7------- eq2

By elmination method

2*Eq1-eq2

2(X - 2y)-(2X - y)= 2(-1)-7

2X-4y-2X+y =-2-7

-4y +y = -8. ( -2x and +2x get cancelled)

-3y = -8

y = -8/-3

y= 8/3

By putting Y value in equation 2 we can get X value

2X - y = 7

2X - (8/3) = 7

2X =7+8/3

2x =21+8/3

X = 29/3
