if x+2y=10

=x=10-2y

and xy=8

(10-2y)y=8

=10y-2y×y=

For x=4

2y=10−4⇒y=3

For y=4

x=2

2x+4y=8(Given)

⇒x+2y=4

For x=2

2y=4−2⇒y=1

For y=3
