x – 2y = 2 _______ 1 Eqn

x + 2y = 2 _______ 2 Eqn

Adding Eqn 1 and Eqn 2, we get

x - 2y=2

+ x - 2y=2

____________

2x= 4

x=4

2

x=2

Put x=2 in Eqn 1,

x-2y=2

2-2y=2

-2y=2-2

y=0

-2

y=0
