x + 4y + z = 5 If x + 2y + 3z = 6 and x-2y + z = 8,
Step-by-step explanation:
x + 2y + 3z = 6 Eq1
x-2y + z = 8 Eq2
Adding both Eq1 + Eq2
2x + 4z = 14
=> x + z = 7 Eq3
Eq1 - Eq2
4y + 2z = -2
=> 2y + z = -1 Eq4
Eq 3 + Eq 4
x + 2y + 2z = 6 Eq5
x + 2y + 3z = 6 Eq 1
Equating Eq 5 & Eq 1
=> x + 2y + 2z = x + 2y + 3z
=> 2z = 3z
=> z = 0
x + z = 7
=> x = 7
2y + z = -1
=> y = -1/2
x + 4y + z
= 7 + 4(-1/2) + 0
= 7 - 2
= 5
x + 4y + z = 5
