if x+2y=5 and 2x+y=7 then find the value of x+y ​

x + y = 4

 x + 2y = 5                                                           ----( 1 )

  2x + y = 7                                                           ----( 2 )

Adding (1) and (2) , We get

⇒ 3x + 3y = 12

Now, By divide each term by 3 , We get

⇒ x + y = 4

 

∴ x + y = 4

x+2y=5

=> 2y=5-x

=> y=5-x/2 (i)

Now, 2x+y=7

=> 2x+5-x/2=7

=> 2x+5-x=7*2

=> x=14-5

=> x=9

Then, y=5-9/2

=> y=-4/2

=> y=-2 Ans.
