If x+2y =5 and 7x+3y =13. Then (x,y)

Given :

x+2y = 5 ----------> equation 1

7x+3y= 13 ---------> equation 2

Now,

Multipy equation 1 with 7

Therefore,

7(x+2y)= 7(5)

7x + 14y = 35-----------> equation 3

Here,

subtract 2 from 3

7x+14y=35

7x+3y=13

0 +11y=22

so,

11y = 22

Y = 22/11

Y = 2

Now substitute the value of y in equation 1

x - 2y = 5

x - 2(2) = 5

x -4 = 5

x = 5+4

x = 9

hence,

value of x = 9

Y = 2
