If x+2y=7 and 2x-2y=11 find the value of x

X+2y=7

2x-2y=11

X=7-2y--(1)

Putting in 2x-2y=11

2(7-2y)-2y=11

14-4y-2y=11

-4y-2y=11-14

-4y-2y=-3

-6y=-3

Y=1/2---(2)

Putting this in x+2y=7

X+2(1/2)=7

X+1=7

X=7-1

X=6
