Hey friend, Here is your answer-
X + 2y = 8....... (1)
2x + y = 10........ (2)
Multiply equation 1 by 2 ,
2x + 4y = 16......... (3)
Subtract equation 2 from 3 ,
2x + 4y = 16
-
2x + y = 10
__________
3y = 6
y = 6/3
y = 2
Substitute y=2 in equation 1 ,
x + 2× 2 = 8
x + 4 = 8
x = 4
We have to find x+y ,
4 + 2 = 6
Therefore x + y = 6
Hope it will help you.
