We have to find the value of 1/x = 1/(3+2√2)

By rationalizing the denominator,

1/(3+2√2)×(3-2√2)/(3-2√2)

= 3-2√2/[(3)²-(2√2)²]

=(3-2√2)/(9-8)

Therefore, 1/x=3-2√2

Now,we have to find the value of x+1/x

=3+2√2+3-2√2 ( putting the value of x and 1/x )

=3+3 ( positive 2√2 and negative 2√2 are cancelled out ).

Therefore, x+1/x=6 ( Required answer ).
