If x = √3−√2 √3+ √2 and y= √3+√2 √3−√2 , find the value of x2 +y2 + xy. Also find the value of x3 – y 3 using the identity

ANSWER

x=3+23−2×3−23−2 [Rationalising the equation]

⇒(3)2−(2)23(3−2)−2(3−2)

=3−23−23−23+2

=5−26

Similarly for y

y=5−2
