Answer:

As x=3/7 & y=5/4.

Proof for x+y=x+y

Simply you can substitute the values of x&y and can prove it.

LHS=x+y

=3/7 +5/4

=47/28

RHS=x+y

=3/7+5/4

=47/28

Since RHS & LHS are equal hence proved

x = -3/7

y = -5/4

|x| = 3/7

|y| = 5/4

x + y = -3/7 + -5/4

        = (-12 - 35)/28

        = -47/28

x * y = -3/7 * -5/4

       = 15/28

1) LHS = |x + y|

          = |-47/28|

          = 47/28

  RHS = |x| + |y|

          = 3/7 + 5/4

          = (12 + 35)/28

          = 47/28

  LHS = RHS

2) LHS = |x * y|

           = 15/28

   RHS = |x| * |y|

           = 3/7 * 5/4

           = 15/28

   LHS = RHS
