x=3 , y=2
1) (x+y)^2
(3+2)^2
it is in the form of (a+b)^2
= 3^2+ 2^2+2.3.2
=9+4+12
= 25
= 5^2
2) (xy)^2
= (3×2)^2
=(6)^2
=36
