Given that ( x – 3 ) is a factor of p(x)

Hence x = 3 will be a zero of p(x)

p(x) = x³ – 2x² + kx + 6

p(3) = (3)³ – 2(3)² + 3k + 6

0 = 27 – 2(9) + 3k + 6

0 = 27 – 18 + 6 + 3k

0 = 15 + 3k

3k = – 15

k = – 15/3

k = – 5
