if (x -3) is a factor of the polynomial (2x^ + x + k) then find k

x - 3 = 0

It is the factor .

x = 3

2x² + x + k = 0

2 × 3² + 3 + k = 0

2 × 9 + 3 + k = 0

18 + 3 + k = 0

21 + k = 0

k = -21
