  • 2x² + 7x + k = 0

x - 3 is a factor of polynomial

➪ x - 3 = 0

➪ x = 3

then,

2x² + 7x + k = 0

➪ 2 × (3)² + 7 × 3 + k = 0

➪ 2 × 9 + 21 + k = 0

➪ 18 + 21 + k = 0

➪ 39 + k = 0

➪ k = -39

so, value of k is -39
