Answer:

m = 31/3

Step-by-step explanation:

p(x) = 3x³ - m(x)² + x + 6

Given That (x-3) is a factor of p(x) i.e. the the remainder is o.

x-3 = 0 ⇒ x=3

p(3) = 3(3)³ - m(3)² + 3 + 6 = 0 [ since the remainder is 0 ]

3(27) - m(9) + 12 = 0

81 - 9m + 12 = 0

93 - 9m = 0

-9m = -93 [ we cancel the minus(-) ]

9m = 93

m = 93/3 [ dividing by 3]

m = 31/3

           Hope it is helpful. Take care.
