If (x – 3) is a factor of x2 – kx -6. The find the value of ‘k’. Also find the other factor for this value of ‘k’.

here's ur answer....
p(x) = x² - kx - 6 = 0
g(x) = x - 3 = 0
x = 3
on putting values :-
p(3) = (3)² - k(3) - 6 = 0
= 9 - 3k - 6 = 0
= 3 - 3k = 0
= -3k = -3
= 3k = 3
k = 3/3
k = 1
the value of k = 1
( k - 1 ) is a factor.
