Answer:-

K = -4

Given:-

x = 3

p(x) = x² + ( k - 2)x + 9 = 0

To find :-

The value of k.

Solution :-

Since, x = 3 is the solution of equation that means when we put the value of x in given p(x) It becomes.

p (x) = 0

Now,

 x^2 +( k -2)x +9 = 0

 3^2 + (k-2) 3 + 9 = 0

 9 + 3k -6 +9 = 0

 18-6 + 3k = 0

 12 +3k = 0

 3k = -12

k = \dfrac{-12}{3}

k = -4

hence,

The value of k will be -4.
