if x=3 is one of the root of the equality question x2 - 2kx -6 = 0 , then find the value of k

heya \:  \\  \\  =  > x = 3 \: given \\  =  >  {x}^{2}  - 2kx - 6 = 0 \\  =  >  {3}^{2}  - 2k3 - 6 = 0 \\  =  > 9 - 6k - 6 = 0 \\  =  > 6k = 3 \\  =  > k =  \frac{3}{6}  =  \frac{1}{2}

Here is your answer,

If x=3 is a root , substitute the value of x in equation,

x^2 -2kx -6=0
(3)^2 -2x kx3 -6=0
9-6k-6=0
3-6k=0
-6k=-3
k=-3/-6
k=1/2
